Business Development Manager

Northwoods is a full-service digital agency with our strategy, design, marketing and development teams closely aligned to deliver outstanding results for our clients.  This powerful combination allows us to build effective, interactive websites, many of which are built on WordPress as well as our own Enterprise Content Management System, Titan CMS.  We also design and build complex software applications for both stand-alone solutions and those that plug into WordPress and Titan CMS sites.  

Who We're Looking For

  • You love the challenge of finding the right people to talk to and you know how to quickly develop meaningful relationships with new contacts.  
  • You have an insatiable desire to learn new things, discover new ways of working smarter, and like to stay on top of the latest trends in the digital world. You’re curious and inquisitive. 
  • You appreciate the value of data, interpret it effectively, and use it to flex and adapt as it reveals new insights and learnings.  
  • You understand web technologies, User Experience design process, online strategy and marketing.  
  • You have a practical understanding of SEO and PPC.  Real-life experience managing your own campaigns is a bonus! 
  • You’re creative and collaborative, look forward to challenges, and enjoy working in a team environment that also highly values individual contributions.  
  • You’re able to adapt between long and short sales cycles, and know how to continue to effectively foster prospect relationships that ultimately lead to closed sales. 
  • You have an operational mindset that allows you to identify and effectively leverage internal resources (including team members) to help you write winning proposals that meet prospects’ needs and requirements. 
  • You're proficient with the Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. You’re comfortable working in templates built in these programs. 
  • You have 3+ years of selling web design and/or software solutions. 

What You'll Be Doing

We have a top-notch marketing team that develops relevant and in-depth digital information to engage potential and existing customer audiences to drive business.  You will collaborate closely with them, becoming an integral member of the Sales & Marketing team.  

On a day-to-day basis, you will: 

  • Develop your own leads:  
    • Promote and serve as the Northwoods’ ambassador at local networking events. 
    • Develop a prospect list and nurture contacts using a variety of resources, including but not limited to :  
      • Webinars  
      • Blog articles  
      • Video content  
      • Case studies   
      • LinkedIn  
  • Follow up on marketing generated leads: 
    • Assigned webinar attendees  
    • Campaign generated leads  
    • Demo requests  
  • Regularly share learnings, ideas, and knowledge with others. 


Travel is very limited and 98% in SE Wisconsin.
