Digital Marketing Strategist – Paid Media

Full-Time | Hybrid | Paid Media Focus | 3-5 Years Experience

About the Role

We're looking for a skilled digital marketer ready to make an impact at a growing agency. You'll own paid media strategy and execution across client accounts, collaborate with our digital marketing team, and help clients achieve measurable results. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and love seeing campaigns perform, this role is built for you.

Your day-to-day will lean toward paid advertising, conversion optimization and GA4, with exposure to SEO/GEO and Google Tag Manager. You will have access to our continuous improvement team to explore ethical and practical AI implementation to improve efficiency in this role. We're a hybrid team — you'll have flexibility in where you work while staying closely connected to colleagues and clients.

Regarding AI: If you're a beginner, don't worry. Northwoods has a skilled AI agent development team that will train you, mentor you, and support you as you improve your skills. AI is the new reality for professional services firms and this role is expected to embrace and leverage AI. We need someone with digital marketing instincts, great communication skills, and an eager willingness to learn AI. 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy, execution, and ongoing management of paid media campaigns across Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, and other digital platforms
  • Craft digital advertising strategies tailored to individual client goals, with measurable KPIs and clear reporting
  • Collaborate with internal digital advertising and SEO teams to integrate paid and organic efforts for client accounts
  • Develop data visualization reports in Looker Studio and meet regularly with clients to review campaign results and strategic direction
  • Use Google Tag Manager (GTM) to configure GA4 for clients and connect relevant advertising channels
  • Provide input on website redesign and strategy projects by surfacing paid media insights
  • Actively use AI tools to continuously improve campaign research, campaign execution, content development, reporting efficiency, and strategic thinking — and stay current as the AI landscape evolves
  • Stay current on digital advertising trends, algorithm changes, and platform updates
  • Develop and share thought leadership content that supports internal sales and external marketing efforts
  • Contribute ideas across web design, social media, SEO consulting, digital strategy, and content management

What We're Looking For

Experience & Skills

  • 3–5 years in paid media strategy and execution, ideally in an agency setting managing multiple client accounts across industries
  • Proven success launching, managing, and optimizing paid search, display, and social campaigns
  • Experience with keyword targeting, audience segmentation, budget management, and ROI tracking
  • Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals; hands-on SEO experience is a plus but not required
  • Familiarity with GEO and how it interacts with SEO and the broader digital experience is a plus
  • Comfortable using AI tools in day-to-day work and curious about how they're reshaping digital marketing
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with attention to detail
  • Solid project management skills — able to juggle multiple campaigns and clients simultaneously
  • Self-starter who confidently shares ideas, asks questions, and educates others on paid media best practices
  • BA in marketing, communications, business, or related field
