The International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS) is a professional society of more than 11,000 clinicians, scientists, and healthcare professionals across the globe working to disseminate knowledge and promote research in the field of movement disorders.
MDS came to Northwoods with an outdated website and a wide range of digital assets that were spread across multiple platforms that had been developed over time. The website was difficult to maintain, lacked a unified user experience, and missed out on opportunities to highlight the full scope of valuable content the society has to offer.
To kick off MDS’ website redesign, we applied our proven UX strategy processes, including competitive analysis, content inventory, user interviews, wireframing, design comps, and prototyping. Our developers leveraged integration with a third-party learning management system to help MDS better serve and reach its international community of online authors, editors, and members. Northwoods also integrated the site with a custom single sign-on solution that connects seamlessly with MDS’ association management software.
The end result is a modern, user-friendly website that offers a wealth of content, videos, and learning modules. Rich capabilities and features create a more cohesive experience for every audience, allowing MDS to further its mission to educate and inform others about the latest advances in this complex and vital specialty.
